Introduction of the Rivet Nut

Rivet nut, also known as blind rivet nut or rivnut, is a screw nut that can be used for riveting.

The structure can be divided into three parts, which are the thread zone, deformation area and Flange nut unit. It is noticeably that the Flange nuts sometimes are called heads, nut ears or front lips. Within the assembly, the deformation area will swell and transformed into an annular structure. Eventually, the objects will be clamped together tightly with the annular structure and the Flange nut unit and be fixed permanently. The feature of single direction application has outstanding merits than regular screw nuts in many aspects, not only can be considered as the enforcement of the thread, but also can be regarded as a rivet that can fix two objects together.

Usage

The rivnut is suitable for riveting all kinds of metal sheets and pipes that are used in manufacturing industries. It is widely being utilized in automobiles, aviation, railways, refrigeration, elevators, switches, equipment, furniture, decorations, electromechanical and light industries.

It was invented to resolve the issues that often appear when welding thin metal sheets and thin wall pipes, such as screw nuts is fusible and the internal thread is too easy to be stripped. It is really convenient that rivet nuts can rivet without tapping the internal thread and welding the nuts, and the outcome is sturdy and efficiently.
